MEP Simon Busuttil visited Alberta Group of Companies at their head office in Imriehel. The group specialises in the provision of fire and security services, supplies and training.

Dr Busuttil was received by George Barbaro Sant, Managing Director, Cedric Caruana, Group Financial Controller and Duncan Barbaro Sant, Company Director.

The company employs two hundred employees in total. They are mostly specialized in fire, safety and security and most of them are engineers, draftspersons, technicians and after-sales personnel.

Apart from a strong presence in Malta, the company has now branched out in other countries, notably Libya. More recently, the company has also entered new areas, such as supplies related to renewable energy.

Simon Busuttil commended the company's vision and its impressive growth in a highly specialised niche market. He said that its ambition to grow beyond Malta's shores, using the opportunities provided by the EU market and EU trade agreements, made it a 'role-model' for other Maltese companies.
